“Self-proclaimed, life-long cat lady Gail Allyn Landau is bringing her own brand of cat cafe to Laguna Beach. Originating in Taiwan in the ‘90s, the concept of a cat cafe has gained popularity with its unique business model of giving pet lovers a place to hang out with some adoptable felines while sipping on some coffee. Catmosphere has an expected opening date in August with a menu of toasts, salads and snacks, along with coffee and tea, beer, wine and Champagne by the glass. Kids five and up, and families are welcome. Catmosphere plans to offer birthday party reservations, and special events geared toward children and teens. Catmosphere Laguna partnered with the Laguna Woods Cat Club, Laguna Beach Animal Shelter, Bluebell Foundation for Cats and local feline rescues to serve as a foster home for healthy cats and kittens in order to help them find forever homes. A minimum of two visits are required before official adoption, as well as pre-adoption home checks.”
